What is air duct cleaning? Air duct cleaning is the removal of dust, debris and contaminants from your home's entire HVAC duct system — supply and return trunks, branch lines, registers and the blower area — using negative-pressure vacuum equipment and agitation tools so debris is pulled out of the system, not blown around your house.

When Does a Home Actually Need Duct Cleaning?

Not every home needs it every year — and we'll tell you if yours doesn't. The U.S. EPA notes that indoor levels of some pollutants may be 2 to 5 times higher than outdoor levels, and people spend about 90% of their time indoors. Cleaning is clearly warranted when there's something real in the system:

  • Visible dust blowing from registers or dust that returns days after you clean
  • Renovation or construction debris — drywall dust loves ductwork
  • Visible mold growth on registers or inside ducts
  • Evidence of pests — droppings or nesting material
  • You just bought the house and have no idea when it was last done
  • Allergy symptoms that flare when the heat or AC kicks on — many homeowners notice a difference after cleaning

What Our Source-Removal Process Looks Like

"Source removal" means we put the entire duct system under negative pressure with a Nikro vacuum and HEPA filtration, then drive debris toward the vacuum with compressed-air whips and agitation tools — register by register, line by line. It's the method the industry sets as the standard, and it's the difference between actually cleaning ducts and just wiping vent covers.

Air Duct Cleaning Questions

How long does air duct cleaning take?

A typical single-system home takes 2–4 hours. Larger homes, multiple HVAC units, or deep cleanings on long-neglected systems can take longer. The free video inspection lets us give you a realistic time window along with the flat written quote.

What's the difference between routine and deep cleaning?

Routine cleaning ($299.99/unit) is for systems cleaned within the last ~3 years — maintenance-level buildup. Deep cleaning ($650/unit) is for systems 3+ years overdue or never cleaned, where caked debris needs more agitation, more time and more passes. The camera inspection determines which one your system genuinely needs.

Does duct cleaning help with allergies?

It can help — many homeowners notice less dust and fewer symptoms after cleaning, especially when the system had real buildup, pet hair or mold. We keep claims honest: the EPA doesn't endorse routine cleaning as a proven fix for air quality, which is why we show you the camera footage first. If your ducts are clean, we say so.

Do you clean the HVAC unit itself?

We clean the accessible blower compartment and can add EPA-registered sanitizing and deodorizing treatment after cleaning ($200–$550 per unit for sanitizing). For internal coil work we'll tell you honestly whether an HVAC technician is the better call.
